Hey Chapel Youth!
I hope you are snagging some opportunities to get outside in this beautiful weather, or at least open up some windows. Spring is my second favorite season. My family has already been busy gardening, having campfires, and going on hikes. When I talk with people in our neighborhood, they too are excited about their spring projects and plans, and they are happy to talk about them with me. I read Psalm 40 last week, and verses nine and ten made me think of the excitement for the arrival of spring. When something makes us happy or excited, most often we end up sharing that excitement with others. In Psalm 40: 9-10, David shares something exciting with a congregation.
Psalm 40: 9, 10
“9 I have proclaimed glad tidings of righteousness in the great congregation; Behold, I will not restrain my lips, O LORD, You know.
10 I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have spoken of Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth from the great congregation.”
If we have repented of sin and have become a child of God, we too have been blessed with God’s faithfulness, salvation, lovingkindness, and truth, AND we should be talking about it! What God has given us is way more exciting than any spring plans. Do we talk about it though?
We may not be meeting in large groups, but most of us still keep in contact via technology or snail mail. I challenge you to think of things you are thankful for/can praise God for, and share those things with someone. It could be a parent, a youth group leader, a neighbor, a Minecraft buddy—anyone!
Thinking of Who God is and what He has done, encourages me during these unique times in which we live. I hope it encourages you as well.
